2021 NBA Franchise Valuation Rankings
The New York Knicks haven't won a championship in 38 years and have one 50-win season since 2000. They haven't finished better than third in the division since 2012 and are led by their 11th head coach in the last 19 years.
To put it kindly, and obviously, the Knicks haven't been good at basketball for a long time. They haven't had sustained success in more than two decades and routinely sit among the league's worst teams. Nonetheless, the Knicks are worth a lot of money.
As of this month, the Knicks are worth $5.42 billion, per Sportico's NBA Franchise Valuation Report, sitting just above the Golden State Warriors ($5.21 billion) and Los Angeles Lakers ($5.14 billion) for the most valuable NBA franchise.
